Pietrasanta is one of the four municipalities of the historic Versilia, along with Forte dei Marmi, Seravezza and Stazzema. Famous all over the world for its marble workshops and artistic foundries. It has always been a land of poets and artists, from Joshua Carducci, who was born in the nearby Val di Castello to Gabriele D’Annunzio.
The town has retained its special charm over time, attracting personalities from the art world who here have received an honorary citizenship, such as the sculptor Fernando Botero and the director Alfonso Cuaron. Full of typical and elegant restaurants and artisan workshops of various kinds, it is a charming place where you can find unique pieces of design, clothes and whatnot.

Cinque Terre
Versilia is ideally located and allows to easily visit northwestern Tuscany. From here you can reach the Cinque Terre National Park by car or boat (UNESCO Heritage) and visit the ancients fishing villages with colorful houses.
It is absolutely worth a visit to Porto Venere where the Church of St. Peter is perched on the rocks, a trip that could end with a romantic dinner on the island of Palmaria. We will be happy to arrange a boat trip with our private charter.

Marble Caves
To understand the history of this territory it is interesting to take a hike to the Carrara Marble Caves, where Michelangelo went to choose the marble now known as White P, which he used for the Pietà and not only. An excursion that could end with a tasting of lard and good wine in the village of Colonnata.

Versilia Beach
From Pietrasanta it is very pleasant to reach the marina by bike on the cycle path of Viale Apua, a beautiful avenue shaded by centuries-old limes. Versilia beach is characterized by its fine sand and the possibility to walk without interruption for several kilometers. We always recommend our customers a beach club we trust, depending on the needs.

Trekking and Versilia seen from the Apuane Alps
For lovers of nature and mountain walks, there is nothing more beautiful than to enjoy Versilia from above the Apuane Alps.
Many villages follow each other on the road from Seravezza that leads to Passo del Vestito, such as Pruno, where you can have fun wandering the ancient streets of the village and take the Sentiero di Acqua Pendente, a fascinating path through chestnut woods to admire an ancient abandoned mill and the Roman-era bridge. We suggest dinner at La Canonica Restaurant.

Easily within half an hour’s drive from Pietrasanta, (18 km) you will find the Antro del Corchia, one of the largest caves in Europe, full of stalactites and gigantic stalagmites. At its entrance a welcoming and organized ticket office offers entrances for small groups and individuals.
